Portraits

“The human face is infinite. It is a canvas unto itself, woven from the fabric of internal longing, as fluid as the ocean and endowed with endless interpretive potential. Though I have trained my eye on the familiarity of those I have encountered in my own life and whose “portrait” I have either drawn or painted, the universality of expression renders these portraits as visual fiction. Though I have given them a name, they are nameless. My aim is to uncover the light beneath, the soulful ember that infuses the face.”
